Agent: Chelsea, Everton want Koulibaly
The 25-year-old center back wants to leave Napoli following discussions over a new contract and the Premier League, not Juventus, is his likely destination.
Chelsea and Everton are interested in Kalidou Koulibaly, with the defender keen to leave Napoli, according to his agent.
Goal UK reported last week that the 25-year-old was offered to Arsenal, though Arsene Wenger opted against meeting the 45 million euro ($50M) asking price.
Everton and Chelsea have been tracking Koulibaly during the summer transfer window and the Senegal international’s agent, Bruno Satin, has confirmed the player is likely to move to the Premier League.
“I was in Dimaro on Saturday and we discussed a contract renewal,” Satin told Radio CRC. “However, we are not at the point of reaching an agreement. The desire of the player is to leave the club, not renew.
“We are told by the club that he is a great player but from the renewal on offer, we don’t see this. Last year they wanted to sell him, stating he was not focused enough, but then last season he has shown all his quality.
“To the fans I say stay calm because he won’t be joining Juventus. Chelsea and Everton are still interested, as they are both searching for a central defender of his quality.”
