Sunderland midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini has joined Napoli on a three-year contract.

Giaccherini, 31, joined Sunderland from Juventus in 2013 but spent last season on loan at Bologna after falling out of favour.

However, he did enough while there to earn a spot in Italy’s Euro 2016 squad and played four out of the Azzurri‘s five games at the tournament, scoring in the opening 2-0 win against Belgium.

In total Giaccherini scored five goals in 43 appearances for the Black Cats.

During two seasons with Juve, Giaccherini won Serie A twice and finished runner-up in the 2012 Coppa Italia final.
