Roma in $17 million chase for Real Madrid's Nacho
The Serie A club is keen on the 26-year-old but Zinedine Zidane is happy to keep the defender and will hold talks this weekend.
Roma is considering a $17 million bid for Real Madrid center back Nacho, Goal understands.
The 26-year-old made only 22 appearances last season and is currently Zinedine Zidane’s fourth choice behind Sergio Ramos, Pepe and Raphael Varane.
Before returning to preseason training, Nacho was told by Madrid that he still has a future at the club, while the player is also content to fight for his place.
But Zinedine Zidane will now hold a meeting with the defender on Saturday for further talks about his future and the possibility of a move to Roma will depend on the outcome.
Despite only using him sparingly last season, Zidane is happy with Nacho as his backup option in defence.
The Serie A club is ready to offer Nacho more playing time, as well as a salary increase.
Diego Llorente and Jesus Vallejo, two of Madrid’s rising stars in defense, have already been loaned out to Malaga and Eintracht Frankfurt.
