AC Milan chief: Mattia De Sciglio will not be moving to Napoli
AC Milan have turned down an offer from Napoli for defender Mattia De Sciglio, CEO Adriano Galliani has said.
Italy international De Sciglio has been at the centre of transfer speculation after producing some fine performances for his country at Euro 2016.
But Galliani told a news conference that the 23-year-old, under contract until 2018, would be staying put.
“We received an offer from Napoli, from my friend Aurelio De Laurentiis, but we swiftly turned it down,” he said.
“I can guarantee that nobody else has made any real efforts to buy him. Juventus have never made an offer for him.”
He said De Sciglio “has never asked to leave” and added that he wanted to “congratulate him for the very good end to the season with the Rossoneri and, more recently, for the great European Championship for Italy.”
