Juventus rejects Manchester City's £43M Bonucci bid
Pep Guardiola is keen to bolster his defense and the 29-year-old Italy international has been offered a five-year contract worth £6 million a year.
Juventus has rejected Manchester City’s 43 million pound ($55.6M) bid for Leonardo Bonucci, Goal Italy understands.
Pep Guardiola’s side has also proposed a five-year deal for the Italy international worth £6M ($7.8M) per year.
But City’s offer has been met with strong resistance by the Serie A champion, which has no intention of selling the center back this summer.
Juventus has an excellent relationship with Bonucci and is now planning to improve his current contract in a bid to ward off any further interest from City.
Along with Bonucci, City has identified Everton’s John Stones and Athletic’s Aymeric Laporte as its top potential signings to improve Guardiola’s defensive options.
So far this summer City has already secured deals for Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito and Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is expected to go straight out on loan.
