Leicester City are apparently monitoring Croatian star Nikola Kalinic as Claudio Ranieri continues to build on his Premier League-winning side.

According to The Sun, Ranieri is interested in the £15m-rated Fiorentina man, who does not have fond memories of English football after flopping at Blackburn Rovers.

However, Kalinic scored 12 goals in Serie A last season and scored during Croatia’s Euro 2016 win over Spain. If there is to be one major stumbling block however, it’s Kalinic’s substantial wage demands – he currently earns £100k-a-week at La Viola.

Kalinic had a two-year spell at Ewood Park Between 2009-11, but it was a largely forgettable period in his career, managing only seven goals in 44 Premier League appearances.

However, he has since recaptured his best form and Ranieri sees him as the ideal target man – at 6ft 2in tall – to bolster his attack and compliment stars Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy.
