RUMORS: Wenger determined to keep Sanchez amid Juve interest
A new contract and the promise of being the center of the Gunners team alongside Mesut Ozil are the manager’s two incentives as he looks to ward off Italian interest.
Arsene Wenger is desperate to keep Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal amid reports that Juventus has made the Chilean a transfer priority over the summer, according to AS.
The Spanish newspaper claims that Juve sees the forward as a perfect possible replacement for Paulo Dybala, who has been linked with a lucrative move to Barcelona.
But Wenger hopes to extend Alexis’ contract beyond 2018, as he and Mesut Ozil are considered the cornerstones of a team that aims to improve on a distant second place finish behind Leicester City for the coming season.
The two-time Copa America winner could be offered a new deal stretching to 2020, plus a significant pay rise should he choose to stay put.
