​Yaya Toure has his heart set on joining Inter Milan, ​Football Italia reports. Toure shares an infamously fractious relationship with incoming Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and, as a result, he is allegedly desperate to leave. 

The powerful midfielder is keen to link up with his former coach Roberto Mancini at Inter but the move is stalling because of the club’s protracted takeover.

City want to hold onto Toure because of his immense experience and huge popularity amongst the fans but they are slowly resigning themselves to the fact he wants a fresh challenge.

The Ivorian international has received lucrative offers from a number of clubs in the Chinese Super League, but he favours a move to the San Siro.

However, the 33-year-old would have to take a significant pay-cut to force through a move to Italy, whereas he would pocket up to €11m by staying in the Premier League for one more season. 

Guardiola has already drafted in Borussia Dortmund’s classy midfielder Ilkay Gundogan as a replacement as he embarks on revamping the squad and erasing the memory of a dismal season.
